The Ethiopia Stroke Foundation (ESF) proudly welcomed, hosted, and supported a distinguished team of American neurosurgeons, neurocritical care specialists, and neuroscience practice managers for a vital neurosurgical and neurointerventional mission in Ethiopia.

Together with Ethiopian neurosurgeons and neurointerventionalists, complex neurosurgical care was delivered in selected public hospitals, alongside meaningful capacity building and knowledge transfer.

A HISTORIC MILESTONE FOR STROKE CARE IN ETHIOPIA

A historic moment for stroke care in Ethiopia πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ή

The Ethiopia Stroke Foundation (ESF) and Ethiopia Stroke Initiative proudly officiated the graduation of the first Ethiopian medical doctor trained in both Stroke & Vascular Neurology and Neuroendovascular Surgery, a pioneering physician committed to reducing the burden of stroke in our nation. ESF also graduated its 3rd batch of fellows in Stroke & Vascular Neurology increasing the total stroke specialists to 10 in our Country.


A CELEBRATION OF PROGRESS

The milestone was celebrated in the presence of leaders from partner institutions, the ESF Board, distinguished guests, stroke survivors, and the entire ESF family.


ADVANCING STROKE SPECIALIZED EDUCATION

Specialized stroke training for healthcare professionals remains a core pillar of ESF’s mission and this is only the beginning many more to come.
